Airsoft Gun Safety
If you have a teen starting to get interested in firearms, consider purchasing an airsoft gun to get them acquainted with firearm safety.
Airsoft guns are made out of plastic with a signature orange ring around the nozzle to distinguish them from real firearms, due to the fact that the majority of airsoft guns are modeled after real life firearms. The reason why airsoft guns are a great way to teach your teen about gun safety is because airsoft guns work on the same primace. The gun is cocked back, in this case loaded through a coil spring, then fired by pulling the trigger. Some airsoft guns will even come with a safety built in to assure no misfires.
Another reason why airsoft guns are a great way to introduce your teen to firearm safety is due to the fact that they are a whole lot less dangerous then any other form of modeled gun, while still containing the basic mechanics of a real firearm. Airsoft is safer than paintball, and more realistic than a pop gun, so it is much more likely to capture your teens attention, and get them accompanied to the workings of a firearm.
The airsoft gun itself ranges from about fifteen dollars for a low end gun, and fifty plus dollars for the higher end faster shooting products. The ammunition, plastic BB’s are fit for all airsoft guns and cost a steady rate of about five bucks for a thousand, more than plenty for a couple hours of target practice. There are also added accessories you can purchase such as extra clips, and laser guides to help with quick loading and target aiming.
Overall if you are looking for a safe, attention getting way to get your teen started on gun safety, consider purchasing an airsoft gun from your local sporting goods store.
