Airsoft Overview
Airsoft guns are gun imitations of high quality and detail. They are produced for recreation and leisure purposes. These guns launch six millimeter plastic projectiles. Muzzle velocity of airsoft guns range from 100 to 500 ft/s. The pellets weigh too little and move too slowly to break through the person’s skin, with the exception of when they are shot from a close distance. Yet, severe eye injuries and even blindness are possible. For your own safety, eye, mouth, and face protection gear, such as special goggles, mouth guards or face masks, should be used at all times when handling airsoft guns.
There are three different kinds of airsoft gun: gas, electric, and spring. All three kinds operate the same way: condensed gas spreads out and move a pellet down the barrel of a gun.
Spring airsoft guns, often referred to as “Springers,” first cock the spring and only then fire. The spring has to be cocked by hand prior to each shot. These guns are typically semi-automatic or magazine fed. Spring airsoft guns are relatively inexpensive and often are chosen by someone, who is an entry level hobby enthusiast. One has many choices: spring airsoft pistols, handguns, rifles or sniper rifles.
In gas airsoft guns, green or CO2 gas is used. The gas is located in disposable tanks, in the magazine, or in casing for ammunition. The gas creates a simulation of recoil, which can be experienced when firing a real gun. This makes it quite popular among users.
In electric airsoft guns, an electric motor is used. These guns can offer the choice of firing on fully or semi-automatic gear. This kind of airsoft guns vary in power and precision depending on price and manufacturer. Electric airsoft guns are very popular because of their high rate of fire making.
